PLANTING SHAD AND SALMON
One ' of ' them ' is the' exquisitely' flavored-
shad', now '- almost, exclusively of our eastern
waters. The other is the bij? and satisfying
salmon, virtually native to . the Pacific water-
shed. .
It is tne ambitious aim of tho'expeVts at
Washiotfton to transplant both species, so. that
V ' the whole " Pacific qoast shall, enjoy, freely and '
cheaply,' the inimitable' delicacy and rich savor
