" From week to week the personnel of the
resort has changed more rapidly than in
former summers. While the majority of
Oregon families who have cottages at
. ,. Seaside ere occupying them, on the
whole the number Of home people who
are at the resort is a lime benina that
of the last-days f July of last year.
The tourists have- been welcome visit
ors at the -beach and have enjoyed every
form of recreation which the place af
fords. .There have been more -parties
go over to Elk Creek and Canon Beach,
up the Necanlcum and around 'i uiamook
head than in years past. The Strangers
who have been here during the summer

' Duringc 'Tht -early-part of the-weeh-
bank of fog. and mist hung over the
beach, which gave an impetus to all
forms of indoor entertainment.- In most
of the cottage and hotel parlors many
many hands of bridge were played. The
moving picture theatres, bowling alley
and dance pavilion "attracted larger
numoers than during the clear bright
weauer. - -.

- The young people -of Locksley Han
gave a most aengntiui party Tuesday
evening. After a '-very entertaining
' candy pull bridge whlat was played. The
honors of the enlng were captured by
W. C. Pease of The Dalles and Miss
Madge Llngenfelter, daughter of Judge
Llngenfelter of Lewlston, Idaho. The
prizes were two nana painted pennants
bearing the insignia, of the 8. V. 8. soci
ety, an organisation which "has been per
fected among the summer guests of the
hulL An excellent luncheon was served
in one of the small dinina rooms. Dur
ing the entire evening a large bonfire

terns lighted the porches.. The list of
