from the Zlon bakery at 649 Second
street, Nick Nalsosln was arrested by
Officer Pressey last night on complaint
of J. Shatngold, who brought a charge
' Of larceny against him. Just bow Nal

room at Second and Sheridan streets; at
least 15 loaves were taken, one evi
dently having been eaten. The testi
mony In the cane showed that Nalsosln
had been drunk and had entered the
shop and on leaving the proprietor
thought be had taken a cour.e of sticks
of wood. Later he came back with a
bottle of whiskey and wished to treat
everybody In the place and ort leaving
was seen to take more bread. Now Nal
sosln thinks he paid for the bread. Judge
Van Zante took the case under advise
ment until tomorrow morning: -

attorneys representing the creditors of
the Standard Trust company are endeav
oring to hold I. W. Lane responsible
for the value Of a' larga block of stock
held by him In the trust company for
which he lad not paid. - Various-creditors

gether in a - suit to recover claims
amounting to 12030.64. These claims are

Death of O. B. Hoyt G. B. Hoyt of
Jefferson, Or., died yesterday afternoon
at St Vincent's hospital following an
operation, from which he failed to rally.
Mr. Hoyt ' was born in Hope, Warren
county, N. J., in io54. He cam to Ore-
on when a young man and married
Itss Sylvia Miller, daughter of Hon
orable Charles Miller. For the past 28
years he has resided in and near Jef
ferson. Mr, Hoyt Is survived by his
wife snd one son. He was a publia
spirited man and gave generous support
to all public undertakings.
Dedication of Pilgrim Chtiron The
Pilgrim Congregational church Just com
pleted at Shaver and Missouri avenues
to house the congregation of the for
mer Mississippi avenue Congregational
church, will be dedicated Sunday after
noon at 3 p. m., with appropriate serv
ices. The dedicatory sermon will be
preached by Rev. Luther R. Dyott. The
building Is an artistic and substantial
structure, sufficient to meet the needs
of this growing congregation for some
time to come.

ALMOST READY

' Exposition.
Bo near completion Is the exhibit of
the stat of Oregon at the A.-T.-P. ex
position that today the offices of the
Oregon commission - are being moved
from the Hamilton building here to the
Oregon building at Seattle, where they
will remain till after the fair. Presi
dent W. H. Wehrung of the fair com
mission win be in charge there, and will
probably spend most of his time from
now on at the fair ground v
President Wehrung is well pleased
with the building and exhibit, and is
sure that it will eclipse anything else at
the fair. The exhibit is more compre
hensive than ever before, success has
attended the gardener, who haa bad
charge of the decoration of the grounds,
while a number of new and aftraetive
features have been added. One of these,
the Oregon Building restaurant, at
which nothlna but Oregon products and
food stuffs are to be served, is expected
to attract particular attention while the
lecture room and the 'beautiful interior
of the dome are also regarded as attrac
tion winners.

Dentist Will Explain Dr. M. S. Ben
nett, a dentist, is explaining to Judge
Cleland in the circuit court this after
noon why he ahould sot be fined 126 for

practicing without a license. As a re
sult of the trial he was fined $25. He
appealed from the findings of the lower
court and took his case to the circuit

Bent to Book Pile Harry Wright was
sentenced to 15 days on the rock pile
by Judge Van Zante on a charge of
having a hypodermic syringe in his
pocket. He was arrested by Officer

was drunk and alleged that Wricht had
taken 210 from him, but on sobering

speaker. The Kenllworth club haa In
vited the Woodstock, Brooklyn and
Richmond clubs to attend.
Batlway Ken's Day. An extensive
program is being arranged by the man
agement of the A.-Y.-P. fair for what Is
.to be known as Railway Men's Day at
the fair. Saturday. July 2, is the date
chosen for the affair. Holiday rates
have been arranged for by the exposi
tion management and a general rood
time is promised all persona attending
that day.
