Young Kept oa Bench.
Young was a member of the football
squad in 1387 when "Bub" Hastings,
now a student at O. A. C. was captain.
Proftssor M. F. Henderson was the
coach. Practically every member of the
team Was a member of a fraternity un
less It might have been the possible ex
ception of Lawrence, one of the guards.
The team was a crackerjack and had
but little trouble winning the champlon-
ship.
Young sat on the bench most of the
season, but although several times In
juries kept one of the ends out of the
game he was not put in. Hughes a fra
ternity man was called upon several
times but Is said not to have shown re
markable form. Hughes was taken on a
trip to Baker City as a regular
