On of the longest pow-waws that has
occurred lor years was punea orr re
cently by a number of Indians at Turn-
water, above Qranddalles. The occa
sion was tha marriage celebration of two
young Fiwaanes, ana inaians galore
flocked from Yakima, Warm Springs,

tivities. For two weeks the natives,
dreaaed In dazsling costumes and be
decked with flashy' Jewelry and trin
kets, gyrated in fantastic fashion to the
music of tom-toms and . chanting of
squaws. The grand finale of th ex
tended ceremonies was a big feast. On
of the dancers, "Celild Annie," has the
reputation of being an artist In her
line, her graceful movements almost
bordering on th order of the serpentine
dance.
