Anderson, president of 'the
Rubber Works company
says that the time haa now come
when automobiles, like men and Wom
en, must be shod for ' the season;
that tne kind of tires most desirable
'or Hummer are not best for winter.
'All kinds of devices," says Mr.
Anderson, "wore put through their
paces by our experimenting department,
but we found onlx one successful de
vice that meet all requirements and
that is the Hartford Midgley tread tire.
This tire has fovr coils of heavy steel
piano wire Incorporated right into the
tread Itself, so that while the resil
iency of the tire itself 1s not interfered
with, the metal comes into contact with
the pavemtnt, thereby insuring against
the dangerous 'rkid' or sideslip and at
the same time affording; the car protec
tion." Speaking cf the tire situation, gen
erally, Mr. Anderson save that "nev
er In tho history of. the. automobile has
the demand for tires been as. great.
It Is something wonderful. In our own
case, our business has increased double,
treble nni quadruple even .within the
last 12 montha."' ) -
