been sent to W. C. Brooke. Joint repre
sentative for Harney and Malheur coun
ties, asking that a. portion of land be
taken from Harney, Grant and Malheur
counties, thereby making a separate
county from the "three counties, which
will be known as Otis county.
- As Drewsey is the moat centrally
located town it fees been chosen as the
proposed countv seat. The committee
men are: I. M. Davis, John Ott and W.
D. Baker,

dosen wreck, felt the bridge give

Baldwin's fireman and a brakeman

against one Wilson, a conductor, and
the Spokane,' Portland . A Seattle Rail
way company. - He demands IS for a
hat and $1500 to reimburse him for in
juries received when, as he alleges, he
was wrongfully thrown from, a . North
Bank train.. - ' ... .
Holm boarded the eastbound train on
the morning of January 18, holding a
railway laborer's pas to Crusett--
"I desired to see the country,"' says
Holm in his complaint, "so purehased
an observation car ticket." Wilson, the
conductor on the train, so Holm claims;
entered the ear. VUKe in an intoxicated
condition and. grabbing him bodily,
threw, him from the moving train.
Holm tells of his long walk to the
nearest ' station and winds up by de
manding $1600 for injuries received and
$5 for the new hat that was ruined.
