MKlapper, one of the stockholders of the Karo-Klapper Company, Inc., buys all the S
interests of other stockholders and becomes the sole owner of the store. By so doing
he also assumes the enormous liabilities of the corporation due within a few days.
Utterly unable to meet the obligations he turns the entire store over to me, with the
request that the xlaims of his creditors be settled at any cost In order to carry out
his instructions to the letter, I will, for the next three weeks, conduct an extraordi-1
nary sale, unknown before in the mercantile, history of Portland. The sale involves
nearly $38,000 worth of Karo-Klapper Company's stock and about $16,000 worth of
new arrivals of spring stock, on which I have showri no mercy in cutting and slashing J
