Crack Wrestler Wio Meets
r Edgar Frank Full of
Confidence.
Athletic relations between the two
most Important athletic ' clubs In the
west and middle west will be cemented
tomorrow, night In the Multnomah club
"e-vm." ; wfion - Jfnhrniv TTnlnv. the ltB
pound champion of Chicago and Edgar
Frank, the Pacific, coast champion, come
together. .....
Haley reached " Portland yesterday
afternoon and looks to be a dangerous
little customer for the local pride. He
has the confidence of a Gotch, and isn't
afraid i to say that he thinks he can
topple the Portland boy. , Never, in his
life has the little fellow lost a wrei
ling match. He has "been wrestling 1
three veara In and about Clilcaaro. '
TTnr two veers hn was tha V. MV C. A.
featherweight champion in the Windy
City.. When Mike Dwyer went from
Denver to take charge of wrestling at
the new Illinois Athletic club, Haley
went ever to the club to take work un
der the great grappler. ,
In the past year his work has been
phenomenal. He has met in amateur
bouts all the good boys in Chicago.
Swanson, who it was thought, would
be Frank's opponent, fell before him.
Donovan, another- featherweight won
der, went the same route. Now Haley
is the kingpin of them all.
Haley announced last evening that he
would work out with Instructor O'Con
nell or some one of the club's wrestler's
this afternoon. The coming of the Chi
cagoan has occasioned much- surprise,
and there wlll.no doubt be a larare (fath
ering to see nim Umber up from his
long ride and toa get a line on his
chances against the Multnomah repre
sentative. This is tha first time Haley has ever
been to the coast. He Hays he is in love
with the country already, although not
accustomed to sonuoh rain. Tha air Is
bracing to" him and he was up bright
and early this morning after a good
night's sleep.
Frank worked out before'an admiring
crowd last night and' revealed splendid
. form. He is faster and more -scientific
than-at any time in his career, due-to
, the painstaking work of O'Connell.
, Among many or the local clubmen there
is little apprehension over the appear
ance of the easterner. They look for
... 'rana to tana straight rails. More eon
-servatlve onca look for Frank to win.
. - but they concede Haley one fall out of
tne three.
Ordinarily with amateur contests
: there Is a. time limit on the falls, but
, this will not be In force tomorrow
night The pair of feathers will grapple
until one or the other has secured a
ran. The match may last 10 minutes
, and It may not reach a conclusion for
two or three hours.
The preliminary matches tomorrow
nignt are scheduled to start at 8:39
, o'clock, this being dons In order to give
everybody a chance to be on hand In
, time for the first bout. Seats are on
sale at Schiller's cigar store.

Don't deliberately imperil your future. It is all right to put hotw
bles on a horse when you want him to stay close in, but when you ;
want him to go a distance free and easy y,oi take them off. When
you neglect a duty to your health you are voluntarily placingrhobblea
on your own future and making possible things impossible. The man
who turns over in bed for just a few minutes' more slumber after the
alarm goes off is the man with tumbled down gate to his farm and
a humdrum existence. "s

A man said the other day,; "I would have come to you sooner
but there are so many quacks and unreliableg I have been afraid to
try." Of course there are quacks and. fakirs In every line of business
from Portland, lie., to Portland, Or., and always will be, but because
there are counterfeit coins in existence are you never to accept money
on any account for fear of fraud?
You don't have to accept the statements of every doctor you go to
see. It's strange that men will take so much for granted. If banks
did business that way there would be failures every day. Right in this
town doctors advertise and talk about "their" wonderful success in
Portland when no such doctors are here at all and halt their patients
don't know the difference.
If you talk with me about your case, and I fail to convince yon
beyond any doubt in your own mind that "I" am the man who writes
my own advertisements, and the man you see in consultation, and if
I further fail to show our superior facilities, experience and equip-,
