1. While Johnny's playing in the suiy
Each Teddy gets his Christmas gun
And shoots and ' pops . away with glee.
' Till John id sore as he can be.
2. Though Johnny "doesn't see the fun,
The Teddies laugh and shou and run.
' They think it's jolly, how and then.
To play a trick on John again.

3, But in the sidewalk gapes a hole;
A place -where coal, men pour their oal.
The Teds were laughing such a lot,
They never saw. the fateful spot.
4. Oh, 'horrors! In that dark abyss
They see that they have been remiss;
And while their frightened faces blanch,
They're buried 'neath an avalanche.
5. The coal man empties all his coali
And starts to cover up the hole,
'And then he almost has a fit ,
To. see what clambers out of itl; !
