Locally there Js quite a steady tone
to the potato market Along Front
street the commission trade is holding
its prices a fraction or two, higher and
a-rowers
lessen their offerings.
Only STibbUna at Onions.
The market In California Is showing
better tone for onions but thus far
the trade there has only nibbled at Ore
gon supplies. A few cars have gone
forward from here of late and offers
have been made to association memoers
for liberal supplies for future business.

sociation growers are firm In their views
and apparently see notning in tne mar-

( Holiday Trads Is Quit Good.
In Portland's lobbing market this has
tern an unusually good season for trade.
. Contrary to general expectations there

the preceding years. The Improvement
has been felt anions: the wholesale aro

now,.
Errs Sold Steady A rain.
The local egg; market Is holding quite

. are rather small end just at this time
. the demand for this grade la increas
ing, while some interests report an
.' occasional sale of fresh eggs as nigh
as -42 Vic, the general market does not
. range beyond. 400. Eastern eggs are
' holding quite steady here, with value
ruling between 10 36o. -
Chicken Market Is Dull.
Chlckena remain very dull along Front
'street and prices are not showing the
"lightest improvement. Live chickens
, are hard to move at quotations, what
little trade appearing being in . dressed
- stock. The latter are quoted at IS 14c
i a pound. Dressed geese are still rather
plentiful with a smaller demand during
the week than expected. Some live ones
appeared during the past 24 hours,
when they were not sought although
had they arrived early in the week a
quick sale would have been effected.
? . ' Xop Business at Iow rignres.
A continuation of hop buying at low
flgurea Is reported in the valley. Grow-
- erg are still Inclined to sell and at the
rate hops are now moving out It will
. not be long before the surplus In grow-
. ers nanas win oe exnaustea.
The New York Producers' Price Cur

marsets in general:
"The market in the state has been
weaker with sales as low as 8c to grow
ers. There has not been much activity,
however.-as the better lots are still be
: Ing firmly held. On the Paciflo coast
thers has been heavy buying at from 5
ff7c. In Oregon and in Sonoma county,
California, sales have been made as low
as c to the grower, with the market
today quiet but showing a very weak un.
dertona. Locally there is nothing doing
but a little more Inquiry from brewers
.. st the cheaper prices. The English and
German markets are unchanged but de
