gon Agriculture college writes of the
poultry industry in Oregon. He state,
that poultry la the only farm Industry
the product of which are not sufficient
to supply the demand In this state. Dur
ing the present year the state produced
about $S. 000, 000 worth of poultry, yet
there were imported Into the state 30,
000 cases of eggs. -
Oregon hens are laying on an aver
age 76 ega a, year, according to Profes
sor Dryden.' An increase of one dosen
eggs a year for each fowl would pay the
expenses of the agricultural college for
the year, and leave a surplus of $20,000.

Morning .Star Grange met In regular
session last Saturday with 75 members
present. A class of nine candidates
was given the third and fourth degrees.
After . enjoying a fine . banquet the
grange was again called to order and
a good literary program was rendered.
Proposed good road legislation was dis
cussed at some length. Although no ac
tion was taken the general sentiment
was In favor of building good home
road, but opposed to a state highway.
On the senatorial question the following
resolution were adopted:"
