of the denomination of $1000 each, dated
July 1. 1908, and payable July 1, 1909,
with Interest thereon semi-annually at
the rate of 6 per cent per annum; prin
ciple and interest payable in United
States gold coin at the office of the
Port of Portland, in the city of Port
land, Or.
Sealed bids will be received at the
office of the Port of Portland, Portland,
Or., up to 4 o'clock p. m. of Thursday,
the 14th day of January, 1909, and will
then be opened.
No bids will be considered unless ac
companied by a certified check In favor
of the Port of Portland, drawn upon a
reputable banking house in Portland,
Or., for 6 per cent of the amount of
such bid, the same to be retained by the
Port of Portland, as liquidated damages
should the bonds be awarded and the
successful bidder fall to take and pay
