- United Pre ted Wbw.i
. Ban Francisco. Nov. 27. An appeal
to civilization for the suppression or
the atrocities charged against Manuel
Cabrera,7 the Guaiftmalan president,
made by Pr. Fornos Dial, former Hon
durftn, secretary of slate, has been
made puMic by" a friend of Dial. The
translation of the appeal, which was
first issued in "La Republica," of San
Jose, Costa, Rica, begins:
"I make a Kneral appeal "to oil hon
est men in the world, to thoss who love
Justice, hat crime and .feel in their
hearts commiseration for our Guate
malan brethren to all these I appeal
today In order that the tyranny which
now prevails on Guatemalan soil may
bs ended, in the. name of humanity and
civilization.' -'
' After referring to the wholesale as
sassinations alleged to have, been, or
dered by Cabrera, Dr. Pias recites the
ease or jonn tiineiii, an luman suujeci,
who was poisoned by the jealous Ca
brera, according to I Mas. ,.
- Dias . charges that -Cabrera became
jealous of BinelH because Of a woman's
love for the Italian. He ordered Bi
nelll confined in a Guatemalan dungeon
on a spurious charge And then slowly
poisoned him to death.
Or. Dias declares that tils charges are
the outgrowth of personal knowledge -of
the facts in the particular case. He
was confined for several months as a
political prisoner in a cell next to that
in which BinelU was at first . placed.
There he came to know and admire the
; Italian and learned the latter's story..

THE CREAM OP
IRVINQTON
This booklet, with the above title, is the most novel idea in real estate advertising that has ever been
issued in Portland. It deals with the actual improvement work that has taken place 'in Prospect Park, de
scribing and illustrating in detail with wash drawings each item in the complete system of improvements.
Without exception, Prospect Park has now the best and most scientifically built system of street and under
ground improvements in the northwest, the descriptions of which are the most interestingly set forth.
