Trade Not a Bit Deceived at
This Time Regarding
Their Identity.
PORTLAND WHOLESALE MARKETS.
Chicken market is dull.

Eg-gs are firm at 40e.
Mexican beans are advanced.
: Dressed goats find little call.
Oranges- show better colors.
Some Washington hops sold.
Dressed Ooats Cannot Deceive.
Efforts to deceive the meat trade by
shipping dressed goat and calling thorn
veal are still being made by interior
shippers who continue to send this stock
, to market. The, recent great scarcity
of dressed veal, and the high prices
therefor caused some of the interior
goat men to kill a few of their stock
and ship them to market carefully
dressed ano made- to resemble veal as
much aa possible. For awhile It Is
stated some of the butchers took these
goats In the place of veal expecting to
make good profits but the meat evi-
oenuy am not give uivnui
when the arrivals became more liberal
the demand stopped suddenly until at
this time It is hard to sell the bogus
veal ;at any price. '
throughout the dressed meat market
today owing to the nearness of Thanks
giv'ng and the fact that the retail shop
will open for but a few minutes tomor
row morning and under present weather
conditions the meat would not be sale
able Friday morning. Thia applies more
to the veal market than hogs for th
former will not keep so satisfactorily as
the latter. Price about the same.
Soma Washington Hops Bold.
According to McNeff Bros, there have
been a number of deal In Washington
hops during the past . few-days around
-6Vt(lc a pound. There Is nothing of
Interest In the local market at this
time; trade showing a holiday char
acter. Dealers are busily engaged In
shipping their contracted stuff and for
that reason have little time to enter the
n-.arket ev(en though they had oraers
to buy.
Colorado Frosts Kurt Potatoes.
Information received by a local ship-
rer states that the recent frosts in the
"olorado -potato districts flW Consid
erable damage to tne crop. 11 is now
eat (mated that about 15 oer cent of the
total crop was still In the ground at
the time CI tne irosi ana mai luuy iu
per cpnt of this was entirely ruined:
the remaining 6 per cent being badly
nipped and will not likely enter the
market This means the withdrawal of
a considerable amout of Colorado stock
from the market thus allowing the
California surplus to clean up easier
and earlier tnan expeeiea. Accoramg
to the Colorado advices the bulk of
that state's crop has already been sold.
Sell Potatoes Lower.
During the past 24 hours a sale of
quite a stock of fancy potatoes was
made along Front street between deal
ers at 80c a sack. The local market Is
extremely quiet with no outside shlp
menta because of the low prices else
where. Some srrowers are evidently set
ting frightened for the offerings of
stock by proaucers are increasing.
Onion market continues to drag wear
ily along with producers letting go of
second grade stock out noiaing on to
tne best quality.

.A There Is no shortage' In the turkey
market although everything of good
quality Is cleaned up'.;1 Along Front
street only the "culls'; 'remain -6t the
dressed' stock and for -these, prices are
shaded In aome Instances. ; Fancy
dressed birds have, been sold as high as
25c a pound but where one lot went at
that .figure a doxen were aold at 2324c.
The average price, for good birds Is
therefore about 23 He. . ;
Some dealers who did hot receive more
than a doxen birds retailed them to their
friends at a fractiosi better than Zbo m
some instances wher select quality was
wanted. Trie nig packers wnue n some
Instances asking a higher price,
were not, willing to purchase any more
turkeys along Front street,, for all of
them had as many as they needed . be
cause of the high values.
Live turkeys came In quite freelydur
Ing the 24 hours and unless . showing
fancy quality did not meet with much
demand. All the big retailers have all
the turkeys thev need and the only
shortage la among the smaller handlers.
However, some of the larger retailers
were- selling birds to the smaller ones,
thus indicating that supplies are not
so short as some .thought
A heavier supply of dressed geese ar
rived than expeqted but fancy stock
sold freely around 15lo a po,nd.
Live ducks, geese and chickens were
neglected generally although the tone In
chickens was not quite so stagnant as a
day or so ago.

New York, Nov. 25. The stock mar
ket lost heavily late In the sesHlon with
the appearance of rumors that the Erie
railroad was about to Issue bonds for
a heavy amount. Previous to this there
had been a liberal advance In the gen
eral market with the leading Issue
sharply highef. i:hpf among those af
fected by the. early bullishness were the
Harriman shares, and principally South
ern Pacific. The announcement that the
Southern Pacific had applltsl to the
stock exchange to list an additional
$74,864,000 In common stock which will
eventually result in the retirement of
the preferred Issue, was what caused the
sharp upward movement 4n that security
early in the day. All or this advance
was lost previous to the duose. Southern
Pacific closing 4 of a pant under yes
terday and Union Paclflf of a point
lower.

While Drlces were lowered a fraction
or two on the Portland board of trade,
there Is practically no Interest In the
various arain markets at this time. The
cash wheat situation Is showing more
than the ordinary holiday dullness, and
nothing of Interest has transpired in the
market during the oast day or so. Cash
oats market Is steady to firm with little
business In sight, but tnere is some
movement of barley to the south at for
n)er values.
Business In export flour has become
so dull and lifeless that the millers are
no longer receiving dally cables regard
ing conditions.
On the Portland ftpard of trade today
the attendance was light, with little In
terest In the bidding. November and
December wheat options are down c
In both the bid and ask price. There
was no chance In oats futures, but to
day's weakness in San Francisco with
the lower prices there for barley
caused a loss of c In the bid for No
vember and lc oer cental for the De
cember.

Chicago, , Nov. 26. While their oper
ations are on a small: scale, due prob
ably to ths approach of Thanksgiving,
exporters were again buying wheat here
and 80 loads were worked during the
day. With a better feeling abroad the
local market was rather nervous at. the
start prices starting to- c under
yerterday closing. . fJ , .; ,
Liverpool was bullish, but ' net very
active. Wheat opened there to d
higher and closed unchanged to d
above yesterday's last figures. f
Asa. whole the Chicago market moved
within very 'narrow limits today the
spread in December not reaching over
c although there was more activity
In the May which showed a spread of
lc. After the openlog there was some
covering of shorts and this put the
market up to the high point from which
recovery H lost about half later In

Can Be Cured by My Methods
Many men afflicted with varicocele ar en
dangering their general health, their manly pow
ers, and even life Itself, by allowing the disor
der to remain- uncured. Many of them believe it
is an Incurable disease, which is far from being
the truth, as I have demonstrated not only hun
dreds but thousands of times.
Varicocele results from partial paralysis of '
the delicate nerve fibers that have a part In
controlling local circulation of the blood. The
muscular coatings of the veins, being deprived
of nerveous communication and control, become
Inactive, weaken and relax. The blood vessels
expand from the pressure within, the circulation
in the parts becomes sluggish, and frequent
stangnant pools form In little nooks and pockets
that constantly enlarge as me relaxation contin
ues. The possibility exists that clots may form
In these stagnant pools and then pass out into,
the general circulation. Should one find lodg
ment In a valve of the heart, the result might
be Instant death, or should it be carried to the
brain, general paralysis would follow.
I guarantee to cure varicocele in one week
by a method that Involves no painful processes.
No other physician employs a like method, and
so thorough Is my work that there need not be
the slightest fear of a relapse Into the old con
dition.
It Is not a question of whether you can be cured, but whether you
will be cured. Don't wait Until It Is too late. My method for the treat
ment of varicocele is perfect and quick. The cure Is absolutely certain.
I use NO KNIFE, cause no pain, and you need not be detained from
vour work for one day. I especially solicit those cases in which the
many so-called treatments have failed, or where money has been wasted
on electric belts and other appliances.
