ues the disposition of buyers is to go

Big BaU of Bops Xeported.

.the state this season has been reported.
. C A. McLaughlin sold l.tOO bales to
John Carrnlchael of Salem, who repre
sents Wigan. Richardson A Co. of Lon
don. ' The purchase was made on a basis
. of B40 for 1,200 bales, and off for 400
bales. This is likewise the heaviest
: purchase made for European account
this season, and indicates that the price
of hops Is on debatable ground. Grow
ers generally seem willing to accept the
, present market, and dealers are llke-
wise 'willing to do business. Besides the
McLaughlin lot, a number of other
transactions have been reported during
. the past 14 hours. This was forecast

this time has been rather slow and has
met with frequent unavoidable delays,

tions will soon be conducted on a much
more extensive scale.

BUY LAUD HERE
One of the largest real' estate firms
operating on Puget sound, the Greg
ory Investment company, closed a deal
yesterday for the purchase of 80 acres
In the Rose City Park tract, the trans
action involving nearly $200,000. The
sale was negotiated through the agen
cies of Hartman & Thompson and C. B.
Lucas, and is one of the largest and
most important deals In Portland sub
urban property consummated this year.
Th tract is a part of the original
Rose Ctly Park purchase, and is to be
