, Donkey Engine Topples Into River
While Being Taken on Board.
The steamer Leona, plying between
Portland nnd MCMinnvjue reacnea

aomewhat disfigured as the result of
an accident Thursday arternoon at one
of the Yamhill river landings. Sho
went out again this morning, however,
as If nothing had happened. -
The Leona's guard and a part of the
house was wrecked when a heavy don
key engine and pile driver hammer
went overboard while being taken ott
board for transportation to 'Milwaukle.
The engine got away through the
breaking of the moorings, but no one
.Was injured. The engine belongs to
Joseph Paquet and will be fished up
again.
