from California. 8econd. the supplies
of local celery are mora than sufficient
to meet all requirements of the trade.
Third, local producers are quite willing;
to sell at whatever me ioca.i mii .
It haa been the custom among some
. -r .. mint street dealers to discrimi
nate against Oregon products whenever
possible. Due tne corammwu h.j ...
general stands up for local producers.
A prominent Front street man In re
viewing the situation told The Journal
' this about the matter:
-Money Should Bemaia at Home.
"It should be the aim of every dealer
of produce along Front street to patron
Ire the home producer whenever the lat-
ter has supplies to offer and is will
ing to accept a reaaoname price.
are getting all the local celery we need
and there is no use in sending away a
..large amount of this money to Califor
nia because we will never get it back.
It is not only in celery that some of our
merchants discriminate against the
' Oregon produce. They bring in grapes
from the east when we have more
grapes of better quality right here at
home than we know what to do- with.
V Cabbage is brought from California
when the local market is full of better
quality. Grapes are brought from the
s south when every one knows that the
Oregon product was the beat t least
' during the latter part of the season.
When our market was full of tomatoes,
some were brought from California to
make matters worse. It is the few that
am dotnar this sort of business that
are hurting the trade here."
. Same Thing' la Bg-ga, Too.
While every one along Front street
knows that we are not receiving at the
present time, sufficient local rresn eggs
to supply xne marnei, 11 waa nui
long ago mat local egg were coming m
abundance. However, because of the
larger profits offered eggs were brought
in from the east and to make the prof
its still heavier, the price of the local
product was lifted beyond a reasonable
-figure, thus throwing practically all the
business into the hands of the handler
of eastern stock. While local eggs are
scarce at the moment, it is not very
easy to obtain 40c for them and some
dealers are still selling at 87c. The

Both the cheese and butter markets
are holding firm and pricea are, mere

Chicken market Is in fine shape, es
pecially for hens.
Onions and Potatoes Firm.
There Is a very firm tone locally in
both the onion and potato markets.
While business in both lines is confined
strictly to the local trade, there being
no outside shipments in either line, of
ferings by producers are very scant and
no more liberal than the demand. Prices
tn both lines are therefore easily main
tained by the trade.

The Scientific Treatment of Weakness
Dosing the system with powerful stimulants and tonic In an effort
to restore functional vigor can have but one nnal result: The condition
Is rendered worse than before. Weakness'.' is merely an indication of a
low form of Inflammation in the prostate gland, and this inflammation
is but aggravated by stimulating remedies that excite temporary activ
ity. I employ the only scientific and fully effective treatment for "weak
ness," which effects a permanent oure bv restoring the prostate gland to
a sound and healthy state. I obtain complete result In every case I
treat.
