WHY WE DO IT AND HOW
WE CAN AFFORD TO DO IT
This aenerous distribution of
tirizefl Is made for the ntirnnse of
iidv-f itlHlne I'ortJand b Home In
stitution known as Ellcrs Piano
House. We want everyone who
tends to buy a Plnno. or a
ianola Piano, or a Talking Mn-
blne. or an Organ, to know of
Kllers Piano House Us maKnlfi-
cent line of Instruments and Its
money-saving; methods.
We want evrrvone to know-that
the mime of this concern In the
Music Trade stands or fair deal
In, ahaolut reliability, high
quality and reasonable prlcea.
Very few men or Women buy
more than one musical instru
ment in a lifetime. This la the
reason why there are not maiiy
who are posted upon piano values
and plnno-srlllnjr conditions. Thl3
Is wh,v it Is necessary to repeal
constantly the facilities we offer
and the advantages In dealing
with Kilers Piano House.
With the aid of the manufac
turers represented by Ellcrs
Piano House this is to be a most
Ji-JS f.'ir-reachinR campaign. As stot
'jfl ed In the drawing:, the plareoa. to
til be feen In this advertisement rep
'SjJ1 1 resent the total number of instru
ments sold In n given length of
time by the entire Northwestern
Piano trade. The Pianos , shown
in the long column represent the
proportion of the total aold by
E liars Piano Hooaa. .The Pianos
in the little column represent the
proportion aold by all other deal
era combined.
WHAT BOSS IT MEAN?
Ktlers Pinno House, therefore.
often they must have been found
to lp double prices, aubject to
"'confidential" discounts, result
ing In a buyer's confusion and
disgust.
Again, the many claims for
superiority over such makes as
t'hlckrrlng and Kimball and the
magnificent Weber! How they
were punctnred by advertise
ments in plain English, showing,
for Instance, such makes as Stetn-
way for sale In Kngland at less
than 350 for uprights and leaa
than JB50 for grands, for each of
whtcn a clean Juno or more waa
asked on the Pacino Coast! How
many times the blatant claims of
other makes as "the costliest In
the world" were shattered upon
the fact that but a few years ago
the self-same concern was abso
lutely bankrupt, and the entire
assets for sale at what would not
be an extraordinarily large
week's business at Ellers Piano
House.
How the many claims of branch
houses and agencies were explod
ed because, of the fact that In
manv cases it was shown that as
much as fifty dollars per piano
and fifteen per cent management
charges were added to the cost of
each Piano to be sold in Portland.
But space forbids further com
ment. The record Is plain and
and value of the prizes make It
well wortn wmie to trv.
No firm except Ellers Piano
House does a large enough busi
ness to warrant giving absolute
ly free so many valuable prlaes.
If you do nni win the first prize,
vou may win the second or third.
Vou will surely be able to win
one of the certificates good for a
substantial amount toward pay
mint of a fine new Instrument.
speaks for Itself.
IT IS HASTY TO WTJf.
If you want a Piano or Pianola
or an Organ or Reginaphone, it
will pav you to go Into this con
test. It cost nothing except a
Ittle time and patience. No ele
handles nearly 80 aier cent of the merit of chance enters Into this
total! What does this indicate? great opportunity. Merit alone
It means that every one of the
men and women who have bought
the Instruments pictured, made
careful analysis of the situation,
and they favored Eilers Piano
House with their patronage be
cause It was the best concern to
deal with.
Many must have investigated
the claims of concerns "wholesal

an agreement was asked for, as
was pubjished bv Kilers Piano

fect that if proof could he fur
