A very slow flour market with an eaay

Wheat Shipments Go in Vessels From
Columbia River.
Puget sound waters are crowded with
shipping, vessels lying Idle waiting for
business, while in Portland and on the
Columbia river the docks are crowded
with vessels loading wheat and lumber.
On Puget sound there are 17 large sail
ing vessels and one steamer on the dis
engaged list. In Portland harbor there
are but six.
It la .considered quite likely that a
number of the craft lying Idle on the
sound will ba sent around here event
ually for freight to take them home to
Europe, since the bulk of tha wheat la
being exported this year through the
Oregon metropolis.
