Buy Hay for Less. t
(BpeclftI Dispatch to The Journal.)
Klamath Falls. Or.. Oct. 8. The price
of alfalfa hay in the Merrill country has
been lowered, and this week 3.000 tons
were sold at an average of $7. Some
were asking $8.00 and $8.60, but stock
men would not buy and were contem
plating feeding in other valleys had it
not been for this decline in price.
F. M. Miller of Lakeview, C. Swanson,
Lewis Oerber and J Frank Adams were
the recent purchasers.
There are stul many thousands of
tons of alfalfa near Merrill, but the
owners are still holding up the price.
Large herds of cattle are being driven
this week from Wood river valley to
the Merrill alfalfa fields.
