The cash wheat market Is disposed to
show weakness and dullness, with prices
at yesterday's figures. Futures were
unchanged on the board of trade today.
While the flour market is firm be
cause of tfrie expected advance in prices,
no change has yet been announced here.

It would be straining the market some
what just now to quota anything over
37.16 for hogs, for this has bean th
extreme top for late arrivals. This
means practically a decline of lOo from
the former high level, the trade being
unable to secure 17.25 for anything that
has lately arrived. The quality la not
worth 'it say th buyers. The run of
hogs in ths yards Is somewhat better
and because of this fact paqkera ara not
Inclined to bid quite as high as they
were a short time ago. The price or
hogs has reached such a high limit of
lata that packers say they are unable to

what decreased. Despite this fact, how
ever, it la quite probable tnat if some
one had quality out of the ordinary tney
would be able to secure a slight prem

In the yards during the past Z4 hours.

been select quality and for this reason
former high price levels have not been

selected by the standpatters of Iowa as
their candidate for United States sen
ator against Albert B. Cummins, was
congressman from the Sixth district for
14 years prior to his defeat two vears
ago by Daniel Webster Hamilton. Major
Lacey is a native of west Virginia, but
has been a resident of lows since 1855.
