THERE is little doubt that the

especially for the purpose, and the
beautiful pelts may be purchased
in Florence. Some of these coats
are finished with collar and cuffs of
white fox, so bunny and his enemy
are united at least in death.
One of the most magnificent
coats seen in Paris this year has
been made for Anna Held. Rumor
says that for it she paid 40.000
francs ($8000). It is of chinchilla,
that softest and most perishable of
furs. What a number of tiny ani
mals it must hare taken to form
this regal garment 1
Sable and silrer fox, the dia
monds of the fur family, always
hold their own in a group apart
from the rest. They can nerer be
truly popular, for they are far too
expensire to be worn by many peo
ple, but they are always appre
ciated by those who can afford
them. It is said that the lucky
Anna not only has her chinchilla
wrsp, but she also owns a coat of
Russian ssble which reaches to the

academic, and, although purely a

The pelt of the black lynx has
been used to form a set, including
scarf, turban and muff. This will
. give some idea of the lines on
which the new seta are made. It
6hows the gigantic size of the muff,
the small scarf and the rakish an
gle of the turban. The white
aigrette on the latter is most ef
fectire. The scarf is much on the
order of the chiffon ruffs worn in

one side with a huge satin bow.
Particular attention must be
called to the odd way in which the
pelts are sewn together to form the
coats. This is especislly noticeable
in the sable wrap, where the fur is
so planned that it forms a circular
border around the main part of the
wrap.
Kings and queens of old, with
all their ermines, laces and velvets,
would find much to enry in furry
wraps -of today.

Large Hats Will Grow Larger
Monsieur Carller. of the Rua ds la Palx,
prophesies as follows:
Whst will be worn this winter?
A grave question.
Everything Is In the dlrectolre
style; we shall hare the' dtrectoire,
which will give us pretty Mtls
hats with strings.
The large hats will become rery
big. too big. and they will cost so
much that we shall be obliged to
go back to the small hat.
For the theater, we shall hive
delightful coiffures. Inspired by
