Grading is in progress between Bay City and Tillamook. Steam Shovel
No. 1 kit Bay City, grading towards the Miami. A piledriver is at work
on bridge No, 1 at the Tillamook end and decking is following as fast as
the piles are driven. Another piledriver is at work at bridge No. 9 over
the Miami. Tunnel No. 1 at Hobeonville (14 miles from Bay City) is
being completed and a rreit effort is being madeto complete the road
from Tillamook to Bay City at the earliest possibfe moment. Teams are
hauling powder to the tunnel out from Buxton at this end of the line. A
large force of men is engaged clearing and grading the right of way fronf
tunnel No. 1 near Buxton to the 30-mile post. Grading and bridge work
between the 20-mile and 30-mile posts is being rushed and the force will be
enlarged Just as soon as men can be engaged.
