Ministerial association has been called
for Monday afternoon at I o'clock to
hear the complaint of the Federated
Trades council against the T. M. C. A.
for letting the Bolles contract on the
10-hour basis. The meeting will be
held at the Y. M. C. A. auditorium and
all ministers of the city, whether they
are members of the association or not,
are asked to attend.
A union meeting of all the colored
churohea and societies In Portland has
been called for Sunday afternoon at S
o'clock. A good program has been pre
' pared for the occasion, and some promi
nent speakers will be on hand, instru
mental and vocal music will be features

A pathetic scene was enacted in the
Juvenile court yesterday afternoon when
Teofllo Novoa has bean lodged In
the oounty Jail on the charge .of shoot-ins-
three ducks belonging to C'C. Cook.

killed the ducks on a lake without wait
ing to find out that they were not wild.
He Is a Mexican and does not speak
