some time because she waa made sick
by the affair. Deadrlck says that
Moore wrote to him asking that he and
his wire entertain Mr. Moore when
she came to town and they did so, but
tht all of Moore's charges are false.
Marie Hoeuig, a striking blonde whoso
parents live in Eugene, was acquitted
yesterday afternoon of the charge of
larceny preferred against her by Mrs.
M. E. Becker, proprietor of a Washing
ton street ult store. The hearing oc
cupied several hours ln the municipal
court.
' Judge Van Zante decided ln Miss
Hoenlg's favor when It was brought out
that after she had left Portland to
visit her parents in Eugene a young
woman closely resembling her had trind
to obtain a suit from another store by
th same methods alleeed to have bnen
employed by Miss Hoenlg. This was
to select, a suit and then- ask It to be
charged to Harry Redding, steward of
the Hotel Portland, her husband.

cleared of the charge.' She had been
arrested in Eugene' by a Portland offi
