They secured 5.40 and a gold watch

Rdward Jurksnn was arrested by
i Patrolman Hupert half an hour later
while walking alonK the O. R. & N.

Hpeck carried a revolver with a bright
barrel, while, the other held one with a
blue barrel. All the patrolmen in tho
vicinity were notified to be on the look
out for suspicious characters, and Jack
son's early-morning walk did not look
good to Rupert.
When Jackson was found to have a
revolver with a bright barrel In his
pocket It was thought the case against
mm was almost com

this
morning Speck declared positively that
Jackson was not one of the highway
men. His revolver was not loaned.
.Speck was walking down town to
ipen the hotel bar when the robbery
occurred. The two men suddenly, ap
peared In front-rf him. and the hold
tip was over In an Instant. This Is
the first Instance of an early-morning
