CHAMPION DISCUS THROWER.
Peek-a-boo and rurbelows,

Flashed beneath young- Robert's nose.
Made him los Ills swoel repose.
That's the way Uxe story goes,
That Is why youn Mohler blows.
For sure. - . ,
Girlish Giggles.
There was little Joy left tor the la
dles at Vaughn park yesterday, but even
at that they found plenty of chances to
reach high C. Buddy Ryan, Oeorge Jill
debrand and Joe Curtis wore particu
larly obliging to the fair ones. Kven
llobbv Orooin found a warm spot In
their hearts, and an for Oscar Jones,
tvhv If Clara r didn't belong to the ene-
inv thev could have adored him. That
sunny disposition of Oscar would melt
any feminine heart, and Iiundruda -ot
flashes of fire shot toward Mr. Mohler
when that worthy scolded Oscar for
tiklns: a rest at third base after he had
run ull the way around without stop
ntnr tr catch bis breath.
Well, to gi t, down to the facts. As
usual. Mohler copped a single right off
the reel, nut the rriSKy Kin never gi
further than first base. The lleavera
did about as well, the first three up
lifing easy outs.
Matters liunar In this state till tha
fifth inning. After Dansls; had gone
out. Zeider to Williams, Tom Madden
tnr. off a double Into riKllt field
Groom's lone, high flv to Beck allowed
the Beaver backstop to take third base.
Casey walked, and together with Mad
den started a delayed double steal. It
worked to perfection, and Madden rang
tin Portland's only tally. San Francisco
made It two over In the sixth on Coon
ey's error, three successive blngles
nnd a base on balls, Groom forcing Cur
tis In. Meleholr's double. Williams'
ingle, a brace of errors and a base on
balls allowed four Seals to register In
the ninth.
With two down Grnney was sent In
to bat for Groom. The little Cleve-
lander duplicated his trick of yesterday
and tore off a long three-bagger to right
.center. However, umpire ferrine de
clared he had not touched first base and
called him out.

In the first round Kelly seemed to naTO
h nipamirn of the Grand Rapids man
and the champion received several hard
Jolts. The Chicago challenger likewise
had the best of a mixup, but his icrt
eye was partly closed by a uavage drive
near the close or tne rounu.
In the second the men fought hard,
end Kelly again sent some heavy ones
to the champion's stomach and Jaw. It
looked cood for Kelly when the men
came up for the third, but Ketchel In
a twinkling caught Kelly on the Jaw
with his left, repeated the dose without
difficulty, nnd then gave the finishing
touch in the same manner, while tho
Chlcagoan stood wondering what was
happening. Keily went down heavily
and staiu for tho count. e
In th third round of what was to
have been a 10-round bout, Young Blue
Dan, champion welterweight of tho
navy, defeated George 1'eterson, former
amateur champion in that class. Tho
police stopped the argument, the navy
man (retting the decision.
Round 1 Ketchel danced to the cen
ter. He missed a right for tho Jaw,
nnd a left for the body aluo missed its
mark. Kelly then drove lert and right
to tlie face and Ketchel slipped to his
knees. A wicked mixup followed,
Ketchel putting a right to the head, and
Kelly sending right and left to the
body. As Kelly backed away Ketchel
caught him on tho Jaw with a left.
Keily kept battering away at Ketchel's
stomach and forced Ketchel to mix It.
Keily Jarred his man with two vicious
rights to the Jaw und the bell rang with
the Michigan boy looking serious.
Round 2 Ketchel swung his right to
the Jaw and they mixed at close range,
Kelly uppercutting with right to the
Jaw. Kelly put his left to the face
and then staggered Ketchel with a
vicious left to tho chin. Ketchel kept
boring in, but the best he could do was
to get in a straight left to the face.
Kelly Jarred his man with straight left
to the nose, bringing blood. A moment
later he shot a ntralght left to the
stomach and then put In right and
left to the body. Ketchel put In two
straight lefta to tho Jaw and they
mixed it viciously as tho bell ended the
round. Ketchel's nose bled as he took
his seat.
Round S Ketchel sent In three lefts
to the Jaw as quick as a flash. The
third was a vicious left that caught
Kelly flush on the Jaw and sent him
to the floor, as If shot. He vas unablo
to rise and was counted out.

When Drugc Fail
What Then?
What will you do when doctors
and their drugs fall to cure?
Where will you look for relief, If
you continue to cling to an old,
foolish notion that the only way
to cure any aliment Is to dope
yourself with poisons?
There are thousands of poor,
deluded sufferers paying half
they earn to doctors or nrtdlcal
fakers for poisonous trash that
wrecks the stomach and nerves
and eats up the vitality.
You never stop to consider tho
cause of disease. You never
thought of helping nature cure.
When anyone suggests a remedy
other than drugs you ridicule It.
"Oh, that's Just some new fraud,"
rou say. Every remedy Is a
raud In your estimation, except
drugs. When drugs fail you are
ready to give up in despair.
That's because you were taught
to believe in drugs, Just as your
ancestors were taught to believe
In witchcraft, bleeding and other
absurdities.
The only way to cure any ail
ment Is to help nature. Nature
wants strength and nourishment,
not poison.
Electricity Is Nature's medicine.
It Is nerve food, nerve life. It
uts vim In every vital organ.
makes the blood rich, red and
warm. It gives new energy to
ilred, dlscournged men, and re
stores their strength and power.
