ahore. Although most oif the families

Bids have been opened for a bridge
across the mouth of the Necanicum on

Cannon Beach a
Coming Resort
Next season a new and charming
summer resort will be openod to outing
lovers through the promised electric
line from Astoria and Seaside to Til
lamook. The distance of Cannon beach
from Seaside Is about eight miles and
the present road leads over a steep
mountain Incline and la a hard one to
travel.

not cared to wait for the coming of
the electric line and who have pioneered

week last has been a particularly en
joyable one at the North Beach re
sorts. The clear weather and cool
mean breezes have put life In every
body and all of the amusements havo
been followed with enthusiasm. There,
have been a great manv new arrivals
and the registration at the hotels Is t tie
highest that has been reached during
the season.
For the past three weeks there has
been a contest going on between the
guests of the Sea Croft and Salt Air
hotels at the game of five hundred. W.
E. Hutchinson Is the landlord of the
litter and his wife is the happy hostess
of the former. On Monday night the
guests of Salt Air came down to Sea
Croft to struggle for new honors. They
found Mrs Hutchinson and her guests
si ready entrenched and ready for battle.
