Irvlngton residents object to the
erection of a ripe station In the pretty

request Is unusual In that many other
districts are clamoring for fire protec

fire commit lea of tho executive -hoard
thought a fire station would be greatly
welcomed in the neighborhood.

SMALL ACCOUNTS
SETTLED FIRST
Title Guarantor Surplus to
Liquidate Some De
posits in Full.
Title Guarantee and Trust company
funds amounting to 80,000 have been
repaid, the expense of the two receiver
ships of George H. Hill and 11 C Meara
have been settled and the present re
ceiver still has 8187,499 cash on hand,
which he recommends shall be used to
puy a ten per ceni dividend to depos- j
Itors with claims under 8500. I
According to yesterday's Journal Re- I
cidver It. 8. Howard has filed a report
In the United Status circuit court rec
ommending that the court order a divi
dend to be declared to Title Guarantee
and Trust depositors. He makes a com
plete statement of tho present condition
of the receivership, and tho assets and
liabilities to date.
Thus far the work of the receiver
has been chleflv the finding: of all debts
and assets and their complete classifi
cation and the making of arrangements
for lluu datlort on the best terms.
The settlement of many small notes
and claims of the bank against indi
viduals and companies has been accom
plished, and In this manner the receiver
has come into possession of upwards
of 8275,000. part of which has been
used in replacement of trust funds of
the bank and In payment of expenses
of the liquidation from Its beginning
hist fall. There Is now on hnnd enough
to pay u ten per cent dividend.
Pay Small Depositors.
The receiver nsks the court to con
sider the advisability of paying off In
full tile 1,760 depositors' claims of 826
or less. He says these small accounts
encumber the books and are due for the
most part to poor persoiiB who are most
In need of the money.
The report shows a surplus In book
accounts of assets over liabilities of
8453,855. The actual value of the as
sets Is lower than they are carried on
the books, however, and regarding many
of these assets It is Impossible to tell
Just how much will be realized.
The total number of claims of all
classes Is 7, COO. amounting to 81.804,56(1.
The total number filed and allowed Is
4.S00. amounting to 81.746,729, not In
cluding tho claim of Ladd & TUton for
$C07,25f, which Is subordinate In time
and runk by direction of W. M. Ldd.
The cash now applicable to the pay
ment of claims Is $187,499, There are
2,700 claims neither filed or presented,
amounting to $67,826.
Of the total 7.500 claims against the
bank only the following have been re
jected by the receiver:
The 'interior. cmcago i n.o
