GLEN HARBOR
A beautiful tract of 232 acres, near Linnton, with 1,650 feet of water-frontage on the Willamette river, was
sold through Anthony Hardy to the GLEN HARBOR REALTY COMPANY, whose officers are: John
D. Clarke, president: Hugh C. Gearin, vice-president; Walter J. Gearin, treasurer, and John G. Clemson,
secretary. This valuable land was purchased from Lou Watts and was part of the George Watts Donation Land Claim. It was held many years on ac
count of the excellent water-front and deep harbor. The tract between the St. Helens and Germantown roads (the latter is now macadamized) will be plat
ted, the streets graded and put on the market in a few days. GLEN HARBOR has a commanding position between the river and heights, with enchanting

Linnton. the picturesque little town seven mllei north of Portland, Is destined to become center of 4fcreat activity with the com
pletion of the United Railways electrlo 'line right through lt main street. This new line will continue out through Cornelius pass and
on to Hillsboro. Construction work is being pushed with vigor, and It la expected that a quick 5-cent service will be given to Linnton this
fall. Wise ones know what this means for LinntOD and Glen Harbor.
The Columbia Steel-company will build an extensive plant between Linnton and Glen Harbor. Linnton has extensive sawmills
and a box factory and othr Industries, with others In sight. Linnton and Glen Harbor have the deepest harbors on the whole Wlllam
etto river being from 26 to 38 feet deep, with blue clay bottom and both have unlimited water frontage. Linnton is now an important
manufacturing town on the Willamette river, and the Immediate future prospect Is greater than for any other Oregon town. The big
sawmill emolovs '60 hands, the box factory employs 60 hands. The Columbia Steel company will employ 800 hands, and another sawmill
which will Ve one of the largest on the coast, will bring an army of men to the west side. All these will have to be housed, which means
great activity here.
1 have pinned my faith on Linnton and surroundings for some years. It was while stenmboatlng or. the Willamette river thfit I
flrt saw the great possibilities and probabilities of the natural harbor along the west side of the river below Portland and all draw
bridges. Knowing well that extensl ve manufacturing Industries seek advantageous water frontage to facilitate shipping I knew It would
be only a matter of a short time befo.-e this section would attract capitalists. Every month only strengthened my firm faith In the
future of the site, and the building of the I'ntted Railways electric line down the west klo of the river from Portland through Linnton
In a very Important factor In the upbuilding of the town and surrounding districts. I have some of the choicest property In and around
Linnton Glen Harbor and Whltwood Court to offer at very low prices at present. All tills property will rapidly Increase in value when
the new electric line Is completed and quick. service established. If you wait for developments, remember you will have to do so at your

The United Railways Klectric line will also run through
Whitwood CVuirt. The construction is being pushed and cars
will, it is said, be running within three months. With a rapid
5-cent fare down the west side of the river, liaffic will be nat
urally diverted from the long, tiresome out-of-the-way east side
route over draw-bridges and down the peninsula to St. Johns,
thus saving 30 minutes. When traffic increases the ferry service
will be improved. Watch the west side grow.
