were crowded to their capacity, hut
only a few delegates were In their
peats. Their appearance as they
straggled Into the hall evidenced

( nly when the vice-presidency was
mentioned.

Tenca. brother of Lafe Pence, today
refused to disclose the names of per
sons back of the petition he has filed
with the supreme court asking the dis
barment of Judge Punno. Attorney E.
E. Cothran riled the petition lit the In
stance of I'ence, who appear.' as com
plaining witness. Tho petition alleges
that Dunne has placed both the supreme
court and the district court of appeals
in pcintuinUy and contempt by state
ments made from the, bench and in in
terviews given to the press. Some of

evening the great hp!l fluttered with
flags brought for the great event
which everyone felt would come be
fore midnight, while the favorite
sons of the various states held forth
for an hour or so waiting for the
committee on resolutions to cut out
enough Issues of the committee to
make a printable platform.
Fifteen thousand people waved
flags, cheered the orators who rpoire

back again. At last it seemed cer
tain that the wrangling of the reso

past midnight, when it was decided
to hear the nominating speeches.
