paring to hold a big demonstration as
soon as the nomination of William J.
Bryan for president Is announced. Ir
respective of party, the citizens of the
city will go in a body to Falrvlew to
congratulate the candidate.
The band will march through the
principal streeta and the crowd will
huiry to Falrvlew In streetcars, auto
mobiles and on foot. President Shepard
of the Brynn club will make the notifi
cation and congratulatory speech.
The city had considerable excitement
last night when a crowd tore down a
Taft and Sherman banner that had been
stretched across the main street and
burned It publicly. Tha Republican
state central committee announced to
day that a new banner will be stretched,
which will be protected by force If nec
essary. Bryan got a big bunch of letters and
telegrams today and spent the morning
answering them.

was 12 years old, is believed to have

his 10-year-old sister.
The children were playing near tha
reservoir last night, when they failed
