We have the theatre and hotel trade of Portland. We have carpeted and fur
nished every theatre in the city, and it has been conceded that the' house of Ge
vurtz & Sons furnishes the great majority of the hotels and lodging-houses of
Portland. You can hardly name a prominent hotef not furnished by this firm.
We have just completed the furnishing of four big hotels. In catering to this
great trade we sometimes buy the entire carpet output of a mill, and, together
with shipping in carload lots, we obtain prices and rates equal to the wholesalers.
That is why we do preeminently the carpet business of Portland. This being the
mid-season between spring and fall trade, when usually there is a slackening up
of business, we shall offer extreme purchasing inducements for July in' an en
deavor to keep our carpet forces and furniture salesmen .together. .We do not
wish to "lay off good men. It will prove a money-saving time to the purchaser,
who heeds our advertising.
