heavyweight of Chicago, are slated to
mix it r in a six round bout before a
local-club tonight. This will be the
sixth time the two have met. The last
time the colored fighter disposed of
Parry In two rounds. v ...
-The second annual baseball game be
tween the Lawyers and Doctors and the
Bankers' league team, will take place
tomorrow at- I p. m. on Multnomah
field. The players that are to take
rart rank among the best amateurs in
he country. Nearly all have played on
"varsity" clubs In eastern and, western
colleges.
The rivalry between the teams and
their - supporters Is intense, and the
game promises to be hard-fought. Ed
ward Rankin will be umpire.
Governor Chamberlain. Mayor Lane
and President A. L. Mills will open the
ame. Multnomah Held is oetng put

game will be the first game to be
played on the new Multnomah field, the
bent or its kind on the coast.
Already many gay parties have been
made up to attend the game, and from
present indications a record-breaking
crowd win be in attendance. Tne young
ladles of -the Flower . mission have
worked bard to make this event a suc
cess.
The object' for which the game Is
given is the support of the day nursery
at 25 North Ninth street. Here little
tots ud to years of ace are cared for
by competent matrons, assisted by the
young ladies or the mission. The moth
era are thus enabled to earn an honest
living, knowing that during their dally
ion tneir lovea ones are cared ror Dy
mot nerl y nurses.
The young ladles of the Flower mis
sion deserve great credit for maintaining
thla institution, and If the public would
only visit the nursery and see the
healthy, happy little ones. Its useful
ness would appeal more strongly to
them. The mission also looks ud per
sons who are In need of assistance, and
lurnisnes rooa. ciotning, medicine, and
medical attendance. About SO members
do active duty among the poor, distrib
uting feed, etc., and caring for their
