Troup, who lived about three jnllea
south bf this city, is missing, and his
whereabouts is a' mystery. He left
hoifie about 8:80 Sunday morning with
his flshlnsr pole, presumably to go down
to a favorite spot along the Umpqua
to spend the day fishing, not leaving
any word with the family other than
that he was going1 fishing. It Is thought
possible that Troup has run away from
home, aa it has been learned that he
has been in the habit of leaving- home
remaining for days without leaving any
word as to his whereabouts. Thla is
either one of his freak trips, or ha has
been drowned, or possibly haa met with

on him and is sure the party who was
with him took It while assisting him to
undress.. He - refuses to divulge this
person's name, thoush officers seem to
know It and are working on the' case.
