RICH WOMAN MISSING
INSANE, SAYS HUSBAND
Note Saying She Will Earn Her Own
Living Conclusive Proof
to Him.
New Tork, June 13.-E. barton Hall
Jr., aon of tha multi-millionaire, today
hired private detective to search for his
wife, who disappeared from he Hall
country home at CUencoe, L. I, and who,
he believes, has gone Insane. Mr. Hall
declares that he would give everything
he had to find his wife.
Mr. Hall said that he feared she
might have withdrawn a large amount
of money from her own bank account in
Manhattan, and that, in consequence, she
might have met foul lay while wander
ing about the city. A note which he
received from his wife three days after
she disappeared seemed conclusive proof
to him that his 'wife was mentally de
ranged. This la the note;
"Don't worry. I am all right. Will
be home In a month. I am going to take
a position. Want to earn aome money,
earning my own living."
Mr. Hall pointed out that It would be
absurd to think hta wife would express
any such intention If she were In her
right mind. ,
