George 3. Major of Los Angeles spent

newing old acquaintances. He had many

where he formerly spent much of his
time. Friday he was the chief guest
at a luncheon given at the Commercial
club by Arthur L. Finley In honor of
his first wedding anniversary. Mr.
Major was best man at Mr. Finlev's
marriage.
Dr. E. L. House of Spokane visited
friends In Portland a few days last
week. He has gone to Oakland, Cali
fornia, to fill the DUlcit of the First
Congregational church for eight weeks.

the state tennis tournament and carried
