Fifteen hundred 'member -of the
United Artisans, who came, from ail
parts of the northwest to attend the
Rose Carnival, assembled In Arion hall
last nlffht in resnonse to an Invitation
from the local United Artisans. The
occasion was for the purpose -of bring
ing together the visiting members of
me oraer in a social session. A good
literary and musical nroaram had been
arranged for the evening. The address
or welcome was delivered by Supreme
Master H.y S. Hudson, whfch was fol
lowed by. illustrated songs, social and
instrumental solos and a character reci
tation by J. Frank Porter. After the
program waa completed, dancing was

Fred McDermott has begun suit in the
circuit court; to secure the custody of
his eight-year-old boy, Harvey who la
