The New York story stated that Her
man A. Roth, Edna Goodrich's attorney,
had made the statement that all diffi
culties In the way of the wedding had
been overcome. -

Railroad Trestle.

Stockton, Cal., June 1. The Inquest
on the remains of Henry Do us fccptt
and his, daughter Lillian who were
killed on the railroad trestle across the
Sfokelumne river at Lodl yesterday
afternoon by an Overland train, is-being
held in this city this afternoon.
Engineer Sankey testified that h
saw Scott and four little children near
the end of the trestle but that as they
seemed to be getting off all right, he
made no attempt to . stop his train.
However, when the little girl got hor
foot caught between the ties and f-l!
about five feet from the end of the
bridge, he applied the brakes but It
was too late. The engineer Is on the
verge of nervous collapse.
The father was killed while trying
to save hie daughter.
