How Portland floored.

bagger, while Raftery did the same.
Portland went out by the three-man
route until the ninth Inning. Raftery
pulled oft his second hit of the day, a
single down third baas line,, and was
advanced to second by Danzig's sacri
fice. However, he was thrown out try
ing to reach third on Bassey's infleld
grounder. Then came Baseey's spec
tacular stealing by which be took every

TENNIS IN WASHINGTON

University of Oregon, Eugene, May
28. Charles Mac C. Snow and Gerald
Eastham, both of Portland, won the
finals in the tennis try outs to decide on
representatives at the tournament in
Seattle next Saturday, and left last
night for the sound. Ronald Mackenzie,
also of Portland, won the individual
'championship, but was unable to take
tne trio on account or ms studies.
The team will meet representatives of
Idaho, Washington, Washington State
college and whitman. Mao Snow will
play ill the singles. The preliminary
games will take place Friday and the
finals Saturday.
Both Know ana Eastham are strong
players and their work will be watched
with interest. They will have two days
to accustom, tnemseives to the Wash.

While there they will have a chance
to visit the fleet and will be able to
take In the triangular track meet and
