Portland's bluecoats will soon dis
card the heavy winter uniforms and
don the summer regulation attire. Chief
Orltxmacher has posted the official bul
letin, which calls the entire police force
to the drill hall In the Armory on May
29, for the annual inspection prior to
the donning of the summer garb. The
Inspection is set for Ilia
The three reliefs, under command of
their captains, will assemble at police
headquarter and march to the Armory,
where they will be inspeeted by Mayer
Lane and the police oommlttee of the
executive board. Captain Moore will be

ley and Stover. After the Inspection
the summer habiliments will be worn
until winter again sets in.
May 88 is rather an ausploious date
for Portland, for it la on that day that
