GORY FOOTPRINTS ON DESKS
SCARE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER
Have you read Harrison O. Walls
story of "The Invisible Man"T Well,
just as this little boys stood wonder
eyed and watched the footprints that
had mounted the white steps and
stopped, but had not come dawn again,
so the high school authorities are eas
ing and wondering at some footprints
that appeared in one of their rooms
some time between Friday night and
Monday morning.
When the teacher of room It entered
her room in the West Side High school
Monday-morning, aha felt conscious of
something peculiar in the itmninhr
and after sniffing around she discov
ered a red footprint on the seat nearest
her. . She gasped with horror at the
gory vision and clutched at her heart
ready to faint whan aha saw
beyond. Plucking up courage she ex
amined the next meat and found an ex
act counterpart of the- first footprint.
In excited haste she examined the next
desk, and the next, and the next. Yes,
her worst fears were realised. Each

silently some tale of mystery. They
were small feet, too, the feet of a
young boy! , . , ,
On closer examination it was found
that the footprints traversed the length
of the room and back again, marking
each seat impartially with the foot
print, which, also on closer examination,
turned out to be red paint. -
