James T. Mulhall. part proprietor of
the Ship hotel at Venice, was arrested
last night by United States Marshal

bail until an offloer from Minneapolis,
Minnesota, arrives here to secure his

tion. Under various fictitious Arm names,
the alleged fraudulent concern Is said to
have secured several hundred thousand
dollars from victims.

arate organisation to be known as Hood
River county, of which the city of
Hood River Is the proposed county seat

miles and the population about 7,600.

assessed valuation of $5,457,720, an
area of about 1,H square miles and
a population of about 11,600, thus leav
ing It among tbe largest and strongest
counties In the state.
"The tax levy In Wasco county'for
