Festival.
Notices of the championship gamea of
the Pacific northwest association here
Saturday afternoon, June 6, are being
mailed to every athlete In Oregon,
Washington and Idaho. The games
commute-, which consists of Edward
E. Morgan, Dan S. Bellinger, Oeorge
W. Gammle and M. B. James Is hard at
work completing arrangements for the
affair, which promises to he the largest
ever held In the northwest.
Handsome cup trophies will be
awarded to first place wtnnera. silver
medals to second and bronxe medals to
third In each event. An entrance fee of
60 cents per man will be charged In
each event and the fee must accompany
the entry.
Owing to the low railroad fare into
Portland at that time It la expected that
there will be twice aa many contestants
as ordinarily.
Following is a list of the open events:
100-yard run 220-yard run, 440-yard
run, e80-yard run, one mile run, 120
yard hurdles, 220-yard hurdles, run
ning broad lump, running high jump,
pole vault, throwing 16-pound hammer,
putting 14-pound shot, discus (free

four men to each team, each man to run
one full lap, open to high schools and
