Of gathering the stale beer, sealing It

to color and prepare the finishing

After drawing the beer from the kegs
In the saloons Ihere is always a quart

at the bottom of the keg. These empty
kegs are of no use to ihe saloon men
and are often put in the cellar or In
the back yard until the brewery wagon
drivers call for them. The Portland
boy has hla regular route, over which
he goes dally and drains the casks, put

carries.
