Four Cylinders vs. Six
The only advantage claimed by the manufacturers of six-cylinder cars is additional power and
flexibility; some will claim additional speed, which is only a question of power. If speed can be
attained by additional power and the use of six cylinders is the only solution of this problem why
are all the speediest racing cars of the four-cylinder type? The famous racers that participated in
the Vanderbilt Cup Race, at which time such phenomenal speed was made, were all four-cylinder
cars. In the preliminaries, which decided who should participate in the final event, there were a num
ber of six-cylinder cars, none of which qualified. The six-cylinder manufacturer claims that the mul
tiplicity of cylinders eliminates the vibration to a certain extent. There is but one way to satisfy
yourself concerning this: Ride in the best six-cylinder car on the market and then try the Stude
baker four, make a fair and honest comparison, and then decide' whether you care to have the added
complications of the two extra cylinders that demands a most accurate and perfect ignition and car
Duration, which can only be obtained by a very thorough knowledge of gas engine construction.
VS. AGENT
. Did you. ever purchase an automobile from a good reliable dealer, operate it successfully for a time, and later learn of a few defective parts in the car, take it to the dealer from .whom you purchased it
and discover that from some cause known only to himself he has decided to handle the line no longer and it has been transferred to another 'dealer, whose responsibility is governed only by the amount of your,
monthly repair bill? Do not blame the dealer he has not participated in the profits of the original sale and could not be expected to bear aAy of the burden. Your car isan orphan without parents or home.:
Did you ever purchase a car and allow a bearing to go dry a sufficient length of time to put it out of business and wait for it to come from the factory because the dealer did not happen to have that particular
part in the required size at the time you needed it? This, of course, occurs only during tjie pleasant weather when you wish to use the car, and is the true way to demonstrate how strongly seated are yourti
religious principles. There are very few men who can .patiently accept conditidns of this kind. The Studebaker branch house carry in their stock room every part of every car in their, entire line. If, from
accident or carelessness a replacement is rfqtitrcd, you are not compelled to wait for shipment from the factory. Can you comprehend the full meaning and full value of this statement? Before you purchase
a car learn of the facilities your dealer has-'for taking care of it. We would suggest that the easiest way to avoid unpleasant complications is to purchase first, last and always, a STUDEBAKER, tlw car
designed, built, guaranteed and sold by the biggest builders of the best vehicles in the world. - '
Crack This and Pick the Meats Out of It
And at the same time bear in mind that it is not mere idle talk, by t sound facts with positive
and conclusive proof back of every statement. What are the requisites that go to make up a satis
factory car? Those who enjoy the hospitality of your car are apt to think of the comfort and easy
riding quality. This is without doubt a very important feature and one that has been most carefully
developed in all of the Studebaker pleasure vehicles. There are none more comfortable or that ride
easier. Let us give you a spin and you may draw your own conclusions. N
' The driver considers the ease ; and flexibility of the control. If you will select a driver in
whom you have implicit confidence we will prove to him that the Studebaker is as flexible and con
trols as easily as any car known. This also is an important feature in an automobile.
t Lack of vibration in the Studebaker car is one of the predominating features. We defy the
manufacturers of automobiles in this country or abroad to design and construct a car with less vibra
tion than the Studebaker. A ride in this famous car will convince you of the truth of this statement.
