No matter what the market
price of OCEAN SHORE
BONDS may be, whether
they are selling for $123 or
$15, for every one that you
hold, you receive 5 per cent
on the par value, $100, for
30 years. Had you thought
of that? The market price
of bonds, unlike almost any
other investment, has abso
lutely nothing to do with
the earning power of your
money, while invested ' in
them. There is only one
way that you can possibly
lose money in a bond invest
ment and that is if the assets
of the company go all to
smash. You understand, of
course, that all the assets
of the OCEAN SHORE
RAILWAY COMPANY
were mortgaged, when this
issue of bonds was made,
This mortgage was placed
in the possession of the Mer
cantile Trust Company of
San Francisco. There it is
held as security for the pay
ment of the interest on the
bonds. Thus, for every bond
you buy you are assured
that there ia ample security.
There is no way the assets
of thia company caivcrumble
unless the entire Pacific
Coast country goes to the
dogs. The person who in
vests in OCEAN SHORE
BONDS, therefore, is se
cured by the permanency of -the
coast country. Sum-,
marlze, if you wish, the as
sets of this company. It al- .
ready owns real estate in
San Francisco, its northern
terminal, and Santa' Crtut, its
southern terminal, valued at
over $2,000,000. With the
passing of time this real es
tate becomes more valuable.
There are franchises in
every city through which the .
line runs, immensely valua
ble in themselves. There
are private rights of way r
that have been secured at :
great expense. There is a
stretch of railroad 34 miles
long already operating and
earning money. There are
engines, cars, equipment of
every kind. To make as-'
surance doubly certain, the
company is-incorporated for,
$5,000,000, fully paid up, and
the wealthiest men of San
Francisco and California are
owners of this stock. They
cannot receive a dollar, in;
dividends until the bond in
terest is paid. Further than '
that, they are liable to the .
full amount of their stock
for the payment of this lay;
terest, in the event the as
sets are insufficient to take ;
care of the company's obli
gations. What more can
any investor want for secur
ity? But, perhaps the most
interesting part of tnis in
vestment Is the fact that the
man or woman of small
means has the first chance
in a lifetime to buy railroad
bonds below par on easy
terms with a guaranteed in
come. . Pay $98 Teach for
them, buy as many as you
can afford, pay $10 a month
on each bond, and you have
an income ' for 30 years as
certain as any investment
can be called certain. '.
