California varsity baseball team is here
this afternoon ready for the lineup with
the Stanford players in the first inter
collegiate game of this year. It is
curious fact that out of the 40 games
the two colleges nave played since the
first game In 1892 each university has
won 20. Tomorrow s game will be the
forty-first and the first of the seven
teenth year of California-Stanford base
ball.
Stanford has almost a veteran team
this year and so far has played firsU
class ball,- From competitive scores
she seems to have it slightly on the
men from the State university. It is
probable that- Stanford win use xneue
in the box tomorrow, although the exact
lineup will not be announced by Captain
Fenton until a few minutes before the
men go on the field.
