H. T. Booth, who was arrested at tha
tnatance of the Pacific Life Insurance
company on a charge of embezzlement
and cleared of the charge in the state
circuit court .afterward bringing suit
for damages, has had the case trans
ferred to the United States district
court. Booth Is suing the Insurance
company for 120,000.
The police have been notified cf th
depredations of a sneak thief who
entered the residence ofHugh Hume,
editor of the Spectator, early last even
Inn and carried off considerable wear
ing apparel. Some silver and jewelry
were also taken. There Is no clue to
the thief.
